Rosario Signorino

Mishawaka – Rosario Signorino, 91, of 122 W. 12th Street, died today in his home after a lengthy illness. He was retired in 1954 from Uniroyal. He also operated a shoemaker shop in his home. He was born on July 4, 1889 in Marsala, Sicily, Italy, and lived here since 1919, coming from Italy.

 

On July 19, 1913 in Sicily, he married Lora Agati. She died on March 15, 1977. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Mary) VanOoteghem, Mrs. Francesca Steed, and Mrs. Mary Sanders, all of Mishawaka; five sons, Gasper of South Bend and Joseph, Christopher, Gary and Michael, all of Mishawaka; 22 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two sisters n Italy.

 

Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Bavo’s Catholic Church. Rev Gerald Giggig, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Hahn-Peffley-DeVos Funeral Chapel, where a rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. He was a member of the church and the DeAmcis Club.
