Rocco J. Simeri

Rocco J. Simeri, 83, of 603 N. Hill St., died at 6:20pm, Wednesday, in the Cardinal Nursing Home after a year's illness. He was a retired contractor. Born Oct. 1, 1890, in Italy, he had lived here for 70 years.

In 1923, in South Bend, he married Rose Linarello, who survives. Also surviving are four sons, Joseph and Patrick, both of South Bend, and Albert, and Rocco Jr., both of Elkhart; a daughter, Mrs. Rosemary Wray of South Bend: 24 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Friends may call until 9pm today, in the McGann funeral home.

Services will be held at 10 am, Saturday, in St Joseph Catholic Church, Rev. Donald Guetin, C.S.C. pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

A prayer service will be held at 7:30 Friday, in the funeral home. Mr. Simeri was a member of American Legion Post 50. Memorial contributions may be made to the heart Assn. of St. Joseph County.
