Carolyn Sue Simons, 61, of Bremen, formerly of Lake Worth, Florida, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2001, at 10 p.m. at the Hospice House of St. Joseph County after a lengthy illness.

Carolyn was born August 26, 1939, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to William and Leila (Hawkins) Schlarb, who preceded her in death. She is survived by one son, Ron (Jane) Simons of Wyatt, Indiana; one daughter, Darla Simons of West Palm Beach, Florida; and one grandson, Jimmy Simons of Wyatt, Indiana.

Carolyn was an avid photographer and video taper. We will all cherish the priceless memories that she had recorded for us. She also enjoyed writing country gospel music. In 1998 she had a gospel song published, "Baby Jesus," recorded by Sally Brushaber Ploger. Carolyn also worked at her family's produce market, "Farmer Bill's," for many years.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2001, in St. John's United Church of Christ in Woodland, Indiana, with Reverend Ken Seiffert officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen, and one hour before services on Saturday at the church. In lieu of the flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County and St. John's United Church of Christ.
