Johnny James Simpson

April 29, 1928 - March 10, 1999

Johnny James Simpson, 70, of South Chapin Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away following an illness at 8:25 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10, at Memorial Hospital. He was born to the union of the late Dave and Elizabeth (Frye) Simpson on April 29, 1928, in Thornton, Miss. Coming from Chicago, Ill., he moved to South Bend. Mr. Simpson was a retired fork lift driver for the Kendall Company in Chicago.

 

He and Doris Miller were united in holy matrimony on May 24, 1975, in Chicago. Johnny loved fishing, his family and friends, and his ministry as a Jehovah's Witness. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Loving family members that will cherish his memory include his wife Doris; three daughters, Sharon (Ronnie) Green, Kendall Simpson and Willette (John) Wilson; two sons, Eric (Christine) Simpson and Ronnie Simpson, all of Chicago; several grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

 

Memorial services for Mr. Simpson will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 21, at Kingdom Hall West Congregation of Jehovah's Witness, 24255 West Huron Street, South Bend. Final arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary.
