Paul P. Sinka (Jan. 28, 1937 -- Sept. 30, 2003)

Paul P. Sinka, 66, of Locust Road, South Bend, Ind., passed away after an illness at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, in Hospice House.

Paul was born on Jan. 28, 1937, in South Bend, to Paul M. and Adeline C. (Bronski) Sinka, who both preceded him in death. Mr. Sinka was a lifelong resident of South Bend and was the owner of the former Meert's Meat & Dairy. On Sept. 12, 1959, in South Bend, he married the former Kathleen Meert, who died on Nov. 13, 1991.

He is survived by a daughter, Kimberly K. Smith of South Bend; two sons, Paul L. (Tere) Sinka of South Bend and Steven M. Sinka of Mishawaka, Ind.; eight grandchildren, Amy Blad, Terry Riffle, Paul A. Sinka, Brittany Sinka, Bryant Sinka, Stephanie Sinka, Kristin Sinka and Andrew Sinka; three great-grandchildren, Bryce Blad, Brenden Davis and Jayden Riffle; and by a sister, Carol A. (Ray) Branchick of Elkhart, Ind.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3, in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Ave. Entombment will follow in the Resurrection Gardens Mausoleum at St. Joseph Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 2, in the funeral home.
