Gertrude Skodinski

Mrs. Gertrude Skodinski, 48, of 27051 W. US 20. Died at 5:15 a.m. today in Memorial Hospital after a week’s illness. She was employed by the St. Joseph County Co-operative Extension Service. She was born on Oct. 13, 1923 in Goshen and had lived in South Bend 24 years, coming from Bremen. On June 23, 1947, in Bremen, she was married to Robert R. Skodinski, who survives along with her mother, Mrs. Murial Miller of the Masonic Home, Franklin, Ind.; two sons, Phillip Ryan and Chris Allan, both of South Bend; a brother, Ward Miller of New Carlisle, and two sisters. Mrs. Irma Underly and Mrs. Jean Szymanewski of Toledo, Ohio.

 

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home, and 9 to 10 a.m. Monday in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, where services will be held at 10 a.m., Rev. Charles Felton, pastor officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Home or St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, of which Mrs. Skodinski was a member.
