Mrs. Josephine M. Slomski

March 2, 1902 - March 29, 1982

 

Mrs. Josephine M. Slomski, 80, of 120 Marquette Ave., died at 6:15pm Monday in Northwood Nursing Home after an extended illness.

 

She was born March 2, 1902, in Michigan City and lived in the area most of her life.  On November 29, 1923, in Michigan City, as Josephine M. Kaczmarek, she married John S. Slomski, who died in 1971.

 

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Betty Lou Deffley of Lowell MA; two sons, Jack an Charles, both of South Bend; two grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Lucille Sharpe of Bourbon IN, Mrs. Jean Novak, Mrs Marian Wade and Mrs Rosalie Stefaniak, all of South Bend; and three brothers, Elmer & Roy Kaczmarek, both of South Bend, and Alex Kaczmarek of Michigan City

 

Services will be at 10am Thursday in Holy Cross Catholic Church, with Rev. James Trepanier, CSC, officiating.  Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery.

 

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Wednesday in the Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home, where the parish rosary will be said at 7pm Wednesday.  She was a member of the Chopin Fine Arts League.
