MISHAWAKA - Carolyn S. Smith, 64, of Mishawaka, passed
away Saturday, August 2nd, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical
Center of South Bend. She was born on January 15, 1944, in
Waynesboro, Tennessee, to Dallas William and Lillian B. (Martin)
Fowler. Carolyn was a devoted member of the Lighthouse
Baptist Church in South Bend. Carolyn is survived by her three
children, Angela (Troy) Thompson of Niles, Michigan,
Tracie (Matt) Brown of Mississippi and David (Kimberly)
Smith of South Bend; her mother, Lillian B. Fowler of Mishawaka;
six grandchildren, Rachael Hanson, Dennis Keefer,
Robert Keefer, Mathew Colburn, Duane Thompson and Caitlin Smith;
and one great-granddaughter, Lillian Grace Hanson. She is also
survived by one brother, Charles E. Fowler of Mishawaka. Carolyn
was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Fowler, and her
father, Dallas Fowler.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 6th, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Funeral services celebrating Carolyn's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 7th, in the Lighthouse Baptist Church, with Pastor Alan Lickfeldt officiating. Burial is to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka. Memorial contributions may be made to the American National Kidney Foundation.
