Marjorie June (Jenkins) Smith, 81, died of a sudden illness on Wednesday, Aug. 28, in Sunhouse Hospice, Peoria, Ariz.

She was born on May 8, 1921, in Mishawaka, Ind., to Robert Long Jenkins and Sylvia Clay (Rhodes) Jenkins.

She graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1939.

She is survived by her husband, Louis Smith of Youngtown, Ariz.; a brother, Robert Edward Jenkins Sr. of Kalamazoo, Mich.; two sons, George L. Carlile of Glendale, Ariz., and Lee E. Foster of Raleigh, N.C.; four daughters, Kay A. (Chamberlain) Griesinger of Elkhart, Ind., Juanita E. (Carlile) Sharar of Phoenix, Ariz., Robert J. (Carlile) Holmes of Mishawaka, Ind., and Mary E. (Foster) Campbell of Mountain, Colo. She had 26 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandchild; two great-grandchildren; her parents; and by a sister, Mary (Jenkins) McLane of Leesburg, Fla.

Memorial services were held Friday, Aug. 30, in Lundberg Golden Door Chapel, Youngtown, Ariz.
