Martha M. (Huys) Smith, 87, of Apple
Road, Osceola, Ind., died at 9:35 a.m. Thursday, July 18, in
Rosewood Terrace, Elkhart, after an illness. Mrs. Smith was born
on June 4, 1909, in Mishawaka and was a lifelong area resident.
On April 25, 1935, in Mishawaka, Ind., as
Martha M. Huys, she married Earl Smith, who preceded her
in death on May 10, 1985. Surviving is one daughter, Evelyn Allison
of Osceola, Ind.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two
sisters, Stella Lentine of Mishawaka, Ind., and Elda Rothy
of Orlando, Fla.; and one brother, Chuck Huys of Knox, Ind. One
brother, Arthur Huys preceded her in death. Mrs. Smith was
employed by Goldblatts before retiring in 1975.
She was a member of Queen of Peace Church,
Mishawaka, Ind., and Harvest House. Visitation will be at Hahn
Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka, Ind., from 3 to 6 p.m.
today, July 19 where a rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Services
will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Queen of Peace Church, Mishawaka,
Ind. Memorial contributions maybe made to Queen of Peace Church.
