SOUTH BEND - Robert Louis Smith, 68,
of Montgomery, Mich., formerly of South Bend, died at 3:40 a.m.
Thursday in his home after an illness. Mr. Smith retired in 1987
from Wayne County School District as a computer analyst
programmer.
He was born June 13, 1925, in Colfax, Ind.,
and lived in South Bend from 1958 to 1982. He is survived by two
daughters, Linda Roberts of Yorkville, Ill., and Jackie Battton
of Niles; three sons, Robert of Paw Paw, Richard of Dallas, and
Roger of Chicago; and eight grandchildren. He was a veteran of
the Air Force.
There will be no services or visitation.
Cremation will take place. George White Funeral Home, Reading,
Mich., handled arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made
to Hospice of Hillsdale County, 168 S. Howell St., Hillsdale,
Mich. 49242.
