Sister M. Aloise CSC, 86, of St. Mary’s Convent, died there this morning after a lengthy illness. She was born on Feb. 28, 1895 in in Springfield, Mass. as Alice Margaret Smith. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on July 6. 1927. She was received as a novice Aug. 15, 1928 and professed her final vows Aug. 15, 1930. She served most of her community life as a missionary in India. She also taught elementary school in Indiana, Illinois and New York. She retired to St. Mary’s Convent in 1961 where she served for several years as a secretary in the maintenance department.

Friends may call up to the time of services in the convent parlors where rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Loretto Church, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus.
