MISHAWAKA - Services for William R. Smith, 63, of 55255 Willow Creek Drive, who died at 5:25 a.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Mr. Smith was employed by Masterbuilt, South Bend, and was the former owner of Franklin Street Tavern, Elkhart, for six years. He was born Oct. 24, 1930, in Madisonville, Ky.

On Sept. 29, 1973, in South Bend, he married Shirley I. Caron. She survives, with a daughter, Billie Jo Smith of Indianapolis; two stepdaughters, Carol Caron of Mishawaka and Kathy Altom of Tullahoma, Tenn.; two stepsons, Charles Caron Jr. of Osceola and Craig Caron of South Bend; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was a veteran of the Marine Corps and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post Post 9820, South Bend, and American Legion Post 308, Osceola.
