Margaret O. Snyder

Margaret O. Snyder, 76, of Indianapolis, Ind., formerly of South Bend, Ind., died on Monday, Sept. 27, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born on March 22, 1923, to Oswald and Jennie Margaret Olson, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Neil C. Snyder.

 

Margaret was a registered nurse at Hook's Rehabilitation Unit of Community Hospital before retiring in 1989. She also worked as a nurse at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville, Ind., from 1964-1973. She was a member of the award- winning Indianapolis Capital City Chorus, Friends of Friendless Animals, Sons of Norway, Memorial Nurses Alumni Association, and the Pleasant View Lutheran Church. She graduated from South Bend Central in 1941 and Epworth School of Nursing, South Bend, in 1944.

 

She is survived by three daughters, Jane S. Mitchell, M.D., of Carmel, Ind., Patricia A. Snyder and Salla S. Wilson; three brothers, Dr. Donald Olson, Eugene Olson and Glen Olson; and by seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

 

Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday in the Leppert & Hensley Mortuary, Indianapolis.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. today, Sept. 30, in Pleasant View Lutheran Church, Indianapolis, with burial in Highland Cemetery, South Bend, where graveside services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, Oct. 1. Memorial contributions may be made to the Capital City Chorus of Sweet Adelines, 9012 Colgate Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260; to the Pleasant View Lutheran Church, 801 W. 73rd Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260; or to the charity of donor's choice.
