Roy J. Soper

July 25, 1908 – December 14, 1972

Roy J. Soper, 64, of Rt 2, New Carlisle, died at 10am Thursday in E Street Division Hospital, LaPorte, after a week’s illness.  He was a retired president of Bachli Paint Co., Chicago.

Mr. Soper was born on July 25, 1908, in Chicago, and had lived in New Carlisle six years, coming from Chicago.  On February 19, 1936, in Chicago, he married Mea Schmidt, who survives, along with two sons, Richard J. of Galien MI and Lee J. of Louisville KY, and two grandchildren.

Friends may call from 7 to 9pm today in the H.C. Amen & Son Funeral Home, where services will be held at 11am Saturday by Rev. Ernest Geist, DD, pastor of Community Christian Church, New Carlisle. Burial will be in New Carlisle Cemetery.  Mr Soper was a member of Phi Beta Theta fraternity.
