John Spagnolo

Mar. 4, 1889 – July 11, 1955

John Spagnolo, 1402 Lincoln Way West, died at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the residence after two years illness. Born in Italy, March 4, 1889 he came to South Bend in 1928 from Chicago. He was a retired tailor and grocer.

 

Surviving are his widow, Margaret; the mother, Mrs. Christina Campano, Chicago; three sons Albert, Edward and Nicholas, all of South Bend; three daughters, Mrs. Melvin Marshman, Mrs. Rose Richart, and Mrs. Josie Pruette, all of South Bend; two brothers, Louis and Albert of Chicago and two sisters, Mrs. Josie Romilo and Mrs. Anna Ferrero, both of Chicago. Another son John Jr. was killed in World War II.

 

Friends mat cal in the Hollis Funeral Home 7:30 p.m. today until 9 a.m. funeral services Thursday in Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. He was a member of Holy Cross Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus, and Disabled American Veterans. The rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
