SOUTH BEND - Mary L. Sparazynski, 90, passed away at 7:15 a.m. on Sunday, December 13, 2009, in her residence. Mary was born on December 8, 1919, in South Bend, to the late George and Leona (Kubaszewski) Majcher. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Vincent W. Krzyzewski, in 1960; her second husband, Henry L. Sparazynski, in 1995; three sisters, Verna Sparazynski, Henrietta Pinter and Loretta DeLoof; and by her brother, Hank Majcher. She is survived by her two sons, James M. (Nancy A.) Krzyzewski of Mishawaka and John M. (Kim A.) Krzyzewski of South Bend; five grandchildren, MariClare (Robert) Osborn of South Bend, S. Vincent (Lorraine) Krzyzewski of Columbus, OH, Martha (Michael) Boks of Grand Rapids, MI, T.J. Krzyzewski of South Bend and Michael John Krzyzewski of South Bend; great-grandson, Martin James; and by her sister, Clementine (Ed) Wrobel of South Bend. Mary served her country in the United States Army; she was a sergeant in the Women's Army Corps and honorably served during WW II. She was a member of American Legion Post 357. She was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Catholic Church and enjoyed volunteering there. Mary also enjoyed bowling, bingo and gardening. Memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Fund at Holy Cross School, 1050 Wilber, South Bend, IN 46628. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2009, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2009, in St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. For those who are unable to attend the funeral Mass, condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
