SOUTH BEND – Lillie A. Stachon, 86, of Meridian Nursing Center-Cardinal, formerly of West Angela Boulevard, died at 5:30pm Sunday in the nursing home.  Mrs. Stachon retired from University of Notre Dame in the library catalog department and was a former employee of St Joseph’s High School.

She was born December 5, 1908, in Chicago and lived in South Bend since 1953, coming from Gary.  On June 19, 1937, in Chicago, as Lillie A. Uzumecki, she married Edward J. Stachon.  He survives with a daughter, Carol Ann Pickering of Salt Lake City; a son, Robert E. of Norwich CT; two grandchildren; and a brother, Roy Uzumecki of Elmhurst IL.  She was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Ladies of the Knights of Columbus Santa Maria Council 553 and Circle of Mercy.

Services will be at 10am Thursday in the church.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.  Friends may call from 4 to 8pm Wednesday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3546 N. Bendix Drive.
