Esther Dorothy Stackman
Sept. 29, 1891 – Oct. 15, 1967

Mrs. Esther Dorothy Stackman, 76, of 311 E. Battell St., died at 10:15 a.m. today in St. Joseph's Hospital she she had been a patient for about 10 days. She was born in Big Rapids, Mich., Sept. 29, 1891, and had lived in Mishawaka most of her lifetime coming here from that city.

 

As Esther Griffith she married Cecil Stackman in South Bend Sept. 19, 1914, and he died in 1956. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jane Kirby, South Bend, and Mrs. Winifred Love, Edwardsburg, Mich.; a granddaughter, Mrs. Wayne McClellan, Mishawaka, and two great-grandchildren.

 

Mrs. Stackman was a member of First English Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was employed by the former Addison Hardware and Variety Store and Hooks Drug Store,

 

Friends may call in the Bubb Funeral Chapel after 7 p.m. today and until the funeral services there at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. Frank L. Barcus, pastor of the First English Evangelical Lutheran church will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
