Ned Stanton

SOUTH BEND - Ned Stanton, 78, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 1:45 AM Sunday, November 9, in his home. He retired after over 40 years of service with Koontz-Wagner Electric where he was an electrician, journeyman and repairman. Mr. Stanton was born on April 12, 1930, in South Bend, IN, to Muriel and Sadie (Sisk) Stanton, and was a lifelong resident. His high school sweetheart and wife of 57 years, Bonnie L. Zeider Stanton, survives him, along with two daughters, Diana Ruscio of South Bend and Sharon (Mike) Kline of Mishawaka; eight grandchildren, Sara Gray, Barry (Kristy) Gray, Brian (Carrie) Gray, Jimmy Kline, Kyle Kline, Bety (Phuc) Thach, Ian Dodd and Shelly (Eric) Chaffee; eight great-grandchildren, Kason Kline, Tyler Hardy, Nyla Hardy, Katie Gray, Jenna Gray, Aubrey Gray, Brianna Thach and Hannah Thach; a sister, Martha Mitchell of Camp Verde, AZ; twin brother, Ted Stanton of Elkhart; and daughter-in-law, Toan Dodd of Niles. His son, James Stanton, preceded him in death. Mr. Stanton was a member of Deer Run Church of Christ, South Bend.

 

Memorial services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, November 13, in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. David Honeycutt, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. The family will receive friends from 10 AM Thursday until time of services in the funeral home.
