Marilyn Louise Starr

Marilyn L. Starr, 81, of Lincroft Lane, Granger, Indiana, passed away at 1:40 a.m. Tuesday, Jan 10, in Regency Place of South Bend. She was born August 25, 1924, in Union City, Indiana, to the late Hazel (Manson) and Russell Mangas.

 

On Aug. 12, 1945, in Union City, as Marilyn L. Mangas, she married Billy E. Starr, who survives. Mrs. Starr is also survived by a daughter, Cathy (Martin) Klaus of Cincinnati, Ohio; a son, Jeffrey (Jan) Starr of Plymouth, Indiana; four grandchildren, Krista Liotta, Marty (Vicki) Klaus, Alexandria and Garrett Starr; two great-grandchildren, Kate Liotta and Emily Klaus; and by a brother, Richard (Carmen) Mangas of Indianapolis, Indiana. Mrs. Starr was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all of those who knew her.

 

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, January 13, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend, Indiana. Cremation will take place in the Michiana Crematory, South Bend, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637-3437.
