Ferman P. Stewart

Ferman P. Stewart, 85, of the Countryside Place Nursing Home, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away of natural causes on Saturday, March 13, at St. Joseph Community Hospital in Mishawaka. Mr. Stewart was born on Sept. 3, 1913, to Franklin and Lena (Hartline) Stewart in McHue, Ark.

 

On Nov. 11, 1934, he married A. Geneva Wilson in Oil Trough, Ark. She survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Kathy Zeiger and her husband Robert of Mishawaka, and their children, Michael, Daniel and Katie Zeiger; and by a sister, Juanita Harris of Pleasant Plains, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Lynn and Glenn Stewart; a daughter, Wanda Stewart; three brothers, Floyd, Marvin and Roland Stewart; and by two sisters, Monnie Patterson and Pauline Rose.

 

Mr. Stewart was an Army veteran of World War II. He worked for the PHM School System as a custodian at Elsie Rogers School for several years before retiring in 1980. Mr. Stewart was also a member of American Legion Post 308 in Osceola.

 

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola, Ind. Services will be conducted by Reverend Scott Distler and Reverend Davy Troxel of Osceola Grace Brethren Church at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Chapel Hill Funeral Home as well. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Contributions in memory of Mr. Stewart may be made to the Osceola Grace Brethren Church. Mr. Stewart dearly loved his family and grandchildren, and he will be missed by them and his many friends. We will miss his cheerful smile, but we know he is smiling in the presence of the Lord.
