Lester Leo St. Germain

Lester Leo St. Germain, 85, of Timberlane Drive in Jones, Mich., formerly of South Bend, Ind., passed away at his residence at 2:20 p.m. on Thursday, March 25. Lester was born on Oct. 30, 1913, in Cheboygan, Mich., to John and Lucille (Carowell) St. Germain, both of whom preceded him in death. Lester married Evelyn M. Destrampe on Sept. 4, 1937, in Baraga, Mich. Lester leaves to cherish his loving wife of sixty-one years, Evelyn; a son, Kenneth (Martha) St. Germain of Knox, Ind.; four daughters, Nancy (Curt) Funke of Jones, Patricia (Olympio) Guidi of Rome, Italy, Shirley (Sam) St. Germain-Carroll of St. Petersburg, Fla., Kathleen (Phillip) Barnett of Osceola, Ind.; a brother, William St. Germain of Cheboygan; two sisters, Dorothy Oak of South Bend and Mertil Oak of California; 13 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren. Lester was preceded in death by his brothers, Ervin St. Germain, Floyd St. Germain, Russell St. Germain, Lawrence "Jack" St. Germain, Earl St. Germain, William "Bill" St. Germain, and James St. Germain; and by two sisters, Mabel Foltz and Hazel Reed. Lester retired from Wheel Horse in 1982 after 23 years of service. He was a member of the U.A.W. Local #5 in South Bend.

 

Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday. Pastor Jack Cary will be officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Michigan.
