Mary Madeline Stiebritz

Mary Madeline Stiebritz, 92, of South Shore Drive in Mishawaka, passed away of natural causes in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center of Mishawaka on March 18, 2005. Mrs. Stiebritz was born December 24, 1912, to John J. and Nellie Mae (Gray) Straub in Niles, Michigan.

 

On August 25, 1936, the former Ms. Straub married Walter A. Stiebritz Sr. Their love survived nearly 69 years until her passing. Surviving are her husband, Walter A. Stiebritz Sr. of Mishawaka; a son, Walter A. (Cynthia) Stiebritz Jr. of Mishawaka; three daughters, Janet M. White of Mishawaka, Sue E. (Grover) Walker of Bean Station, Tennessee, and Muriel A. Gordy of Osceola. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Madeline in death were her siblings, Chester, Sadie and Hazel, as well as a son-in-law, Donald J. White Sr.

 

Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2005, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola, Indiana. Services will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home on Monday, March 21, 2005, at 10:30 a.m., with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, Indiana.

 

Mrs. Stiebritz attended Nuner School in River Park. She was a homemaker, and loved her children and being a grandmother to her grandchildren. In her spare time Madeline enjoyed gardening, reading her Bible, and embroidering. Her memberships include the Cedar Road Missionary Church in Mishawaka.
