Frederick J. Stockbarger

Frederick J. Stockbarger, 60, of Rt. 3, Lake of the Woods, Bremen, former resident of Mishawaka, died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph’s Hospital.  He had been ill for about one year.

Mr. Stockbarger was born in Mishawaka and had always lived here until nine years ago when he moved to the Lake of the Woods.  He married Frances Bickel in Mishawaka, Jan. 8, 1952.  He had been employed by the Ball-Band plant for 30 years retiring Dec. 7, 1957.

Surviving are one son, Maxwell F. Stockbarger, of this city; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one sister, Mrs. Marjorie Chapman, of Mishawaka. 

Mr. Stockbarger was a member of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, Bremen; Fraternal Order of Eagles, Mishawaka Aerie 2083, and the Loyal Order of Moose, Mishawaka Chapter 1262.

Friends may call at the Bubb Funeral Chapel after 7 p.m. Wednesday and until the funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Monica’s Catholic Church.  Rev. Leo A. Hoffmann, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Catholic Cemetery.  The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Bubb Chapel where friends may call after 7 p.m. today.

Funeral services for Frederick J. Stockbarger, 60, of Rt. 3, Lake of the Woods, Bremen, will take place at 10 a.m. Friday in the St. Monica’s Catholic Church.  Rev. Leo. A. Hoffmann, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Bubb Chapel until the funeral hour.  Pallbearers will be Stanley Gesto, Charles Fritz, Albert Pighi, Orpha Smith, Edward Page and Joseph Wapelhorst.
