Albert L. Stoehr

Mishawaka - Albert L. Stoehr, 88, a resident for 12 years at the Fountainview Nursing Home in Elkhart, died at 11 a.m. Sunday in Elkhart General Hospital, where he had been a patient for 5 days. He was a former Mishawaka resident. He was born on July 4, 1894 in Chicago and lived much of his life in this area. He retired in 1969 as a pharmacist, working at Hook’s drug store in South Bend and Mishawaka as well as at pharmacies in Greensburg and Indianapolis.

 

On Feb. 20, 1916 he married Jessie E. Karr, who died on June 30, 1938. On Sept. 10, 1954, he married the former Freda Beckley who died on Jan. 10, 1969. Surviving are two sons, Luther L. of Mishawaka and Albert L. Jr. of Paragon, Ind.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

 

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, where services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. David Schramm of the Eat United Methodist Church, will officiate, and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Stoehr was a member of many civic organizations.
