SOUTH BEND - Mrs. Anna Strain, 57063
Chapin Drive, died Tuesday afternoon in Memotial Hospital after a
two-week illness. She was born in Decatur, Ia. and came to St.
Jioseph County in 1924 from Springfield, Mo.
On Sept 14, 1924 she married Perry Strain in
North Liberty, who died in 1943. Surviving are five daughters;
Mrs. Martha Cornelius, with whom she lived; Mrs. Aurie Varble
of Kansas; Mrs. Mary Garver of South Bend; Mrs. Naomi Knight
of Milfred, Mich.; and Mrs. Etta Hobbs of Los Angeles; 17
grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and three
great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. in the Forest
G. Hay Funeral Home and until 10 a.m. Friday when services will
be held there. Rev. William Miller, pastor of Crumstown Mennonite
Church will officiate. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery.
