Ronald W. Strock

July 25, 1927 - March 4, 2002

Ronald W. Strock, 74, of Windemere Court, Osceola, Ind., passed away following an illness at 12:20 a.m. Monday, March 4, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend, Ind.

He was born July 25, 1927, in South Bend, to Edwin and Helen Strock, who preceded him in death.

On Feb. 25, 1950, in Goshen, Ind., he married the former Ivajean (Jean) Pierce, who survives. He is also survived by five children, Mitchell (Mary Lou) Strock of South Bend, Kathy Gilmartin of Osceola, Larry (Michele) Strock of Osceola, Brian (Kelli) Strock of Elkhart, Ind., and Eric Strock of Osceola; three brothers, Foster Strock of Mishawaka, Ind., Paul (Susan) Strock and Dawn Strock of Seattle, Wash.; nine grandchildren, John Gilmartin of Osceola, David Gibson and Heather Lawler, both of Fort Wayne, Ind., Melissa Strock and Michael Strock, both of South Bend, Lauren Strock and Shannon Strock, both of Granger, Ind., and Ty Strock and Tessa Strock of Elkhart; and by a great-grandchild, Sydney Lawler of Fort Wayne.

Mr. Strock was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the Uniroyal Corporation in 1986 after 39 years, working as a laboratory technician.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Elden Miller officiating. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will follow the services Thursday at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
