23, 1953 - May 4, 2010SOUTH BEND - Lu Ann J. Stroup, 56, of South Bend, died on Tuesday, May 4, 2010, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. She was born in Mishawaka on November 23, 1953, to Elden and Dorothy (Minzey) Bice of Mishawaka, who survive. Lu Ann married John Stroup in Mishawaka on June 23, 1972. She is survived by John, her husband of nearly 38 years; her son, Stephen (Sarah) Stroup of South Bend; and three grandchildren, Philip, Ethan and Brendan Stroup. Also surviving are two brothers, Paul and Ken Bice, both of Mishawaka; a sister, Sue (Don) Vantzelfde of Paw Paw, Michigan; and three nieces, Rachel, Rebecca and Leandra, all of Paw Paw. Lu Ann was a homemaker and enjoyed art, painting and interior decorating. She was a member of Oak Tree Community Church. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, May 6, 2010, in Bubb Funeral Chapel, from 4-8 p.m. where a funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m., with Pastor Daniel Goepfrich officiating.
