William S. Stroup
   William S. Stroup, aged 78, of 416 North Arthur street, died at 1 p.m. Friday in his residence after an illness of one month.  He was born in St. Joseph county and spent his entire life here.  On Nov. 19, 1893, in New Troy, Mich., he married Mable Etta Price, who survives.  He is also survived by five sons, Wilbur and Theodore, both of South Bend; Jesse, of Weston, Ore., Russell, stationed with the army in France, and Louis, of Mishawaka.  Friends may call in the Orvis funeral home Sunday.  Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Funeral Notes:
   Funeral services for William S. Stroup, of 416 North arthur street, will be held in the Second Church of the Brethren at 2 p.m. Monday.  Rev. Edward Stump, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in Mount Pleasant cemetery.  Friends may call in the Orvis funeral home until noon Monday when the body will be taken to the church to lie from 1 p.m. until the hour of services.
