Walter Strukowski

April 11, 1882 – April 14, 1961

 

Walter Strukowski, 79, of 3317 Mishawaka Ave., died at 8:25pm Friday in St Joseph’s Hospital where he had been a patient two weeks.  He had resided with daughter, Mrs. Bernice Modracki, at the Mishawaka Avenue address.  He was born in Poland April 11, 1882, and came here from that country 56 years ago.  In 1908 he was married in St Hedwige’s Catholic Church to Frances Kucharski, who died December 21, 1954.  He was a retired pattern maker at the Oliver Corp plant.

 

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Modracki, and Mrs. Genevieve Ebel, both of South Bend; and a sister, Mrs. Henryka Pyszynski, in Poland.

 

Friends may call after 3pm Sunday at the St. Joseph Funeral Home Chapel.  A requiem mass will be chanted at 9am Tuesday in St. Hedwige’s Church.  Rev. Boleslaw J. Sztuczko, CSC, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in St Joseph’s Polish Cemetery.  Mr. Strukowski was a member of the Guard of St. Stanislaus, of St Adalbert’s Church, and Peter Skarga Society 1437, Polish National Alliance.
