Frances J. Stump

SOUTH BEND - Frances J. Stump, 81, of Holy Cross Care and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of 1341 Squire Drive, died at 7:33 a.m. today in the care center. Mrs. Stump retired in 1976 from South Bend Toy Co. after 23 years of service. She was born March 2, 1914, in South Bend.

 

On Sept. 7, 1935, in South Bend, as Frances J. Stajkowski, she married Harry Dabrowiak. He died Dec. 22, 1946. On April 4, 1948, in South Bend, she married Robert L. Stump. He died Nov. 12, 1982. She is survived by a son, Dale L. Dabrowiak of Granger; a stepdaughter, Joan Goggin of Augusta, Maine; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Anna Rothballer of South Bend, Sophie Gapski and Irene Phillips, both of Mishawaka; and a brother, Joseph Stajkowski of South Bend. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Harvest House, Club 53, Seniors Citizens of St. Casimir's Catholic Church, and Christ the King Catholic Church.

 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in McGann Funeral Home, 2313 E. Edison Road, where the rosary will be said at 2:30 p.m. by Seniors Citizens of St. Casimir's Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph County Unit of the American Heart Association.
