SOUTH BEND - Karl Suher, Sr., 65, of Maple Road, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 3:20 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, in his residence. Mr. Suher retired in 1991 from Roadway Express after 42 years of service. He was a member of Teamsters #364. He was born on March 2, 1933, in Gai, Yugoslavia, to John and Wilma Suher, who both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Stephen Bertolan; and by a sister, Mary Bertolan.

He is survived by his former wife, Harriet Przybylski; a daughter, Sherry (Bruce) Manring of Plymouth, Ind.; two sons, Karl (Cathy) Suher, Jr., of North Liberty, Ind., and John (Vickie) Suher, Sr., of South Bend; four grandchildren, David Manring, Stephanie Manring, John Suher, Jr., and Jennifer Suher; and by two stepbrothers, Joseph Bertolan of South Bend and Frank Bertolan of Bremen, Ind.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, in Our Lady of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue.
