Sister M. Ellarita Sullivan CSC

Sister Ellarita (Margurite Helen Sullivan) CSC, 92,  was born in Lowell, MA, to the late John and Mary Heyer Sullivan Dubois. She is predeceased by two sisters and two brothers. Sister is survived by her sisters, Rita (Edward) Bulger of Lowell, MA, and Harriet (Leo) Melnicki of Nashua, NH; a sister-in-law, Eleanor (John) Sullivan of Quincy, MA; a brother, Michael (Ruth) Sullivan of Carson City, NV; two nieces, Carol Ann Sweeney and Dee Miller; and a nephew, Andrew Melnicki. Before entering the Congregation of Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1936, Sister Ellarita worked as a payroll clerk. She was trained as an elementary teacher and taught 42 years in schools in Washington, D.C., New York, NY, Riverdale, MD, Lancaster, PA, Austin and McAllen, TX. She tutored for five years in Washington, D.C. and Norfolk, VA. She was a member of Saint Angela Hall, Kensington, MD, and of the Day Care Center staff at Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Spring, MD. In 1999, Sister came to Saint Mary's, where she was active in the Ministry of Prayer until her death.

Reception of the Body and Wake: Tuesday, June 27, 2006, 4 p.m. Church of Our Lady of Loretto, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame, IN. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2006, in Church of Our Lady of Loretto, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame, IN.
