SOUTH BEND - Sister M. Rosa Summers, CSC, 86, of Our Lady of Holy Cross Convent, died at 9:50 a.m. Sunday in her residence. Sister M. Rosa was born March 4, 1908, in Baden, Md., as Evelyn Augusta Summers.
She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on June 26, 1926, and professed her vows Jan. 6, 1929. She was assigned to teaching in elementary schools in Elkhart, LaPorte, Illinois, Washington, Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia and New Jersey, and she served as a librarian until 1978.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Church of Loretto, Saint Mary's College. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday in the church, where a wake will be at 7:30 p.m. Hickey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
