MISHAWAKA - Robert D. Surgeon, 72, of Blue Jay Lane, died at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Hospital. Mr. Surgeon was retired from self-employment.

He was born June 29, 1922, in Carey, Ohio, and lived in South Bend most of his life. On May 7, 1960, in South Bend, he married Marcia M. Fabiszak. She survives with a daughter, Patricia A. Kondek of Osceola; a son, James E. of LaPorte; seven grandchildren; and a brother, Donald of Windsor, Ontario. He was a member of South Bend Power Squadron, Popular Rotor Craft and Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 865, Niles.

There will be no services. Cremation will take place. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
