WALKERTON - Carolyn J. Swanson, 53, of 1092 Walkerton Trail, died of natural causes at 9:45 p.m. Friday in St. Joseph Medical Center. Mrs. Swanson was a medical assistant for 20 years at Fountainview Terrace. She was born July 7, 1940, in Monterey, and lived in Walkerton for the past 10 years, coming from Union Mills.

On June 3, 1984, in Walkerton, she married Bert E. Swanson. He survives with three daughters, Jamie Schultz of LaPorte, Kim Warne of Hanna, and Marcy Waldo of Westville; a son, Brett Schultz of Kingsford Heights; four grandchildren; her father, Joseph Allen of Union Mills; two sisters, Lois Proud of Granger and Janice Warner of LaPorte; and two brothers, Melvin Allen of Orange Park, Fla., and Delbert Allen of Hanna. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Haverstock Chapel, LaPorte. Burial will be in Patton Cemetery, LaPorte. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday and until services Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
