Nathaniel T. Swanson, 90, formerly of 1009 N. Meade, died at 10:45 p.m. Monday in the Ridgedale Nursing Home following an extended illness.  He was born on February 18, 1889, in South Bend where he lived all his life.  On Nov. 23, 1910, in South Bend he married Josephine Peltz who survives.  also surviving are a son, Harold E. of South Bend; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a sister, Lydia Jain of Yakima, Wash,  Swanson retired from the Peltz-Kaufer Paper Co. and also was employed by the Great Northern Distributing Co.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan.  Swanson was a member of St. Joseph Valley Lodge 45, Free & Accepted Masons, where he was a 50-year member.

SWANSON - Services for Nathaniel T. Swanson, 90, formerly of 1009 N. Meade, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan.  Rev. J. Philip Klinger, pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church, will officiate.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.  Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
