Agnes C. Swartz

Dec. 31, 1912 - Aug. 5, 2001

Agnes C. Swartz, 88, of Warsaw, Ind., formerly of South Bend, Ind., passed away on Sunday, Aug. 5, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

Agnes was born on Dec. 31, 1912, in South Bend, as the daughter of the late Henry W. and Clara (Bergeon) Deal. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Russell Deal. On Oct. 26, 1934, in South Bend, Agnes married Kenneth Swartz, who also preceded her in death in 1976.

Agnes is survived by a daughter, Jackie Bentele of Winona Lake, Ind.; three adult grandchildren, Jerry, Tom and Ken Bentele. She has six great-grandchildren, Samantha and Morgan Williams-Bentele of Warsaw, Ashley Bentele of Huntington Beach, Calif., Annie Nichols, Cathy Tedder, and Calvin King of Tennessee. Agnes is also survived by three sisters, Gladys Dewald and Patricia Pierpont of Mishawaka, Ind., and Berniece Allen of South Bend.

Agnes was a past member of the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Anthony de Padua Church in South Bend, and enjoyed several bowling leagues while living in South Bend.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today, Aug. 8, at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park Chapel, Granger, Ind.

A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m on Friday, Aug. 10, in St. Anthony de Padua Church, South Bend, with the Rosary preceding at 9:30 a.m.
