Teresa Louise Butler Swick

Teresa Louise Butler Swick, 39, peacefully passed away in her home on Jan. 6, 1997. She had given her life to Christ on Jan. 3, 1997. Teresa was born on May 13, 1957, in South Bend, Ind., to the union of Emma Doris (Forrest) and Goldus S. Butler, Jr. Her father preceded her in death in September 1982. She was a lifelong area resident. A graduate of Washington High School, Teresa attended Ivy Tech College and I.U.S.B. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Melanie Rei Pietrucha and Monique Lynette Paskell; her mother and step-father, Emma Doris and Dr. Dennis L. Carter; two brothers, Kenneth G. Butler and Gerry T. Butler; one step-brother, Joseph D. Carter; and one half sister, Lisa Clark, all of South Bend.

 

She is also survived by seven aunts, Dorothy N. Howell, Anna (Samuel) Plump, Peggy Forrest, Mozetta Forrest, all of South Bend, Ida M. Carter of Berkeley, Calif., Barbara (Douglas) Broome of Los Angeles, Calif., and Marjorie (Mack) Green of Detroit, Mich; two uncles, James Albert Forrest of South Bend and Thomas (Sharon) Butler of Farmington Hills, Mich.; two nephews, Carleton A. Butler and Kalyn Butler, both of South Bend; two nieces, Andrea Butler and Aubree Butler, both of South Bend; and a host of other close relatives. Her grandparents, Beard (Emma Lou) Forrest and Goldus (Louise) Butler, Sr., preceded her in death.

 

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Jan. 11, at Pilgrim Baptist Church, 116 N. Birdsell Street. Friends called prior to services. Alford's Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
