MISHAWAKA - Eleanor L. Swigart, 73,
of Holy Cross Care and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend, Ind.,
passed away at 10:55 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, at the center.
She worked for the University of Notre Dame for 27 years as the
supervisor for the South Dining Hall. She was born on Sept. 26,
1924, in South Bend, to the late Walter and Florence (Taylor)
Osler, she had lived here most of her life. She is
survived by two daughters, Donna Redman of South Bend and
Diane Dockery of Las Vegas, Nev.; and by 11 grandchildren
and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two
daughters, Marsha Ernsberger and Florence Brockway.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the Palmer Funeral Home. Services will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 24, in the Palmer Funeral Home, South Bend. Cremation will follow and burial will take place at a later date in Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
