Rev. Harvey E. Swihart  

Rev. Harvey E. Swihart, 94, of the Haven Hubbard Home, New Carlisle, died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday there. He was born May 21, 1882, in Kosciusko County, He was married to Mellie Jane Kline, on Feb. 2, 1902. She died on Jan. 2, 1953. He later married Nellie Taylor on May 10, 1955. She died March 21, 1967. He is survived by two sons, Gale Swihart of Sturgis, and Dale Swihart of Goshen; three daughters, Mrs. Frances Aller of Goshen, Mrs. Bernice Heitger of Sturgis and Mrs. Paul Groff of White Pigeon; 18 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.   Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the White Funeral Home, Elkhart. Rev. C. Priest, former pastor of Sugar Grove Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. He was a retired Minister of the former Evangelical United Brethren Church, not the United Methodist Church. He served as pastor at South Whitley, Columbia City, Etna Green, Bourbon, Albion, Rich Valley and Sugar Grove Church.
