Sister M. Chryanthus Synikus CSC

Sister M. Chryanthus CSC, 79, died Saturday in St. Mary’s Convent after a lengthy illness. Born Sept. 4, 1896 in Aschaffenburg, Baveria, as Maria Margareta Syndikus, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on Feb. 28, 1923. She was received as a novice on Jan. 6, 1924 and made her profession of vows on Aug. 15, 1926. She was a registered medical technologist having served at St. Mary’s Academy and St. Mary’s College from 1948 to 1969. She also served in Ohio, Jacksonville, Ill. and in Cairo, Ill. Surviving is a sister, Sister M. Crescentia CSC of St. Mary’s Convent.

 

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Our Lady of Loretto Church, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call today and until services in the convent parlors where a rosary will be recited at 7:15 p.m. today.
