Anthony W. Szabo (July 26, 1945 - October 11, 2006)

Anthony W. “Tony” Szabo, age 61, of Osceola, passed away at 7:48 am Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center of South Bend of natural causes. Tony was born July 26, 1945 in South Bend, Indiana to Anton and Irma (Galgoci) Szabo. On October 15, 1966, Tony married the former Ms. Janet Severeid in South Bend.

  Janet survives, along with two sons, Tony W. (Deb) Szabo of Morrison, Illinois, and Jason J. Szabo of Tampa, Florida. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Megan, Emily and Anna Szabo, as well as two sisters, Monica (Clarence) Bright and Nadine Hardin, both of Orlando, Florida. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, and a step-father, Robert Tatum, as well as a brother, Emery W. Szabo.

  Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Friday, October 13, 2006 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, Indiana 46561. Services will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, October 14, 2006 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, where military honors will be given by the VFW Post # 360 of Mishawaka.

  Tony was a graduate of South Bend Central High School, class of 1964. He served his country honorably in the U. S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1965. He enjoyed traveling the U.S., and was a Cub Master with the Osceola United Methodist Church, and was involved with the Osceola Little League. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Southern Care Hospice, 310 W. McKinley Highway, suite # 340, Mishawaka, Indiana 46545.
