SOUTH BEND - Virginia A. Lekarczyk Szabo, 88, formerly of
South Bend, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 3, in Yorktown, VA.
Virginia was born on June 11, 1920, in South Bend, to the late
Alex and Anna Gorney. She was also preceded in death by
her first husband, Joseph Lekarczyk in 1996; her second
husband, Alex Szabo in 1987; and by a son, Daniel Lekarczyk. She
is survived by her three sons, Robert (Delores) Lekarczyk of
Melbourne, FL, Larry (Jan) Lekarczyk of South Bend and David
(Theresa) Lekarczyk of Yorktown, VA; eight grandchildren; seven
great-grandchildren; and by her sister, Lorraine Reinecke
of Arizona.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 8, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to charity of donor's choice.
