Tillie E. Szymanski

Sept. 10, 1911 - Dec. 31, 2002

Tillie E. Szymanski, 91, formerly of Crumstown, Ind., passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at 3:35 p.m. in Hamilton Grove Retirement Community, New Carlisle, Ind.

She was born on Sept. 10, 1911, to John and Stella (Borlik) Chrobot who preceded her in death. On Nov. 30, 1933, she married Alex Szymanski who passed away on Oct. 10, 1974. Also preceding in death is a son, Barry Szymanski who died on May 17, 1954; four sisters, Esther Chrobot, Helen Shoemaker, Genevieve Klopfenstein, Gertrude Papai; and a brother, Raymond Chrobot.

Tillie is survived by a daughter, Nancy (Robert) Whipple of Elkhart, Ind.; a son, Jerry Szymanski of Michigan City, Ind.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; two brothers, Edwin and John Chrobot, both of South Bend, Ind..

Tillie belonged to St. Stanislaus Kosta Church, the Rosary Sodality, and Crumstown Conservation Club.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 3, 2003 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road. Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. Funeral services will be on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003, at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kosta Church, Terre Coupee, Ind.. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
