Mrs. Katherine Szymkowiak.

 

     Mrs. Katherine Szymkowiak, who lived with her daughter, Mrs. Mary Graham, 1138 E. Chalfant St., died in the residence at 7:53 p. m. Friday after five years' illness.  Born in Poznan, Poland, Nov. 28, 1867, she came to South Bend 64 years ago.  Her husband, Anthony, died in April, 1932.  Surviving are four sons, Adam, Tony, Walter and Casimir, all of South Bend; two other daughters, Mrs. Catherine Bardo, of Granger, and Mrs. Berna Anthony, of Plymouth, Ind.; a sister, Mrs. Magdalena Toiz, in Poland; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.  Friends may call after 7 p. m. today in the Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home until 9 a. m. services Monday in St. Stanislaus' Catholic Church.  Rev. Sigmund Jankowski, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

     SZYMKOWIAK--Pallbearers for the funeral of Mrs. Katherine Szymkowiak, 1138 E. Chalfant St, to take place 9 a.m. Monday in St. Stanislaus' Catholic Church, will be Thomas L. Walling, Ronald Walling, Clyde A. Peck, James W. Oberfill, Edward Szymkowiak and Eugene Vascil.
