Florence Taberski

SOUTH BEND - Florence Taberski, 89, of South Brookfield Street, died at 5:30 a.m. Saturday in her home. Mrs. Taberski was the former owner/operator of Taberski's Meat Market. She was born Sept. 23, 1906, in South Bend.

 

On Oct. 2, 1928, as Florence Barczykowski, she married Henry J. Taberski. He died Aug. 24, 1967. She is survived by two daughters, Loretta Taberski of South Bend and Eleanore Brennan of Sunnyvale, Calif.; a son, Henry of South Bend; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Marshall and Veronica Zakrocki, both of South Bend; and two brothers, Harry Barczykowski and Matt Barczykowski, both of South Bend. A son preceded her in death. She was a member of the Rosary Sodality and Harvest House, both of St. Adalbert's Catholic Church, and Polish National Alliance Lodge 83.

 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the church restoration fund or Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
