Sister M. Bronislaus, CSC, died Wednesday in St. Mary’s Convent after a brief illness. She was 96. The daughter of Martin and Kate Taras Teberski, long time residents of South Bend, she was born in Poland in1868. She came to South Bend with her parents and received her early education at St. Hedwig’s Catholic School. In 1890 she entered the Sisters of Holy Cross, receiving the habit of the congregration in 1891, and making her final profession of vows in 1896.

 

During her community life Sister taught at Sacred Heart, Forth Wayne and at LaPorte, East Chicago and South Bend. She was also stationed at St. Angela’s in Morris, Ill., and spent a year in Marshall, Tex. She had been a teacher at St. Mary’s Academy for several years. Since her retirement she had been a resident at St. Mary’s Convent.

 

The requiem high mass will be offered at 9:30 a.m., Friday in the Church of Loretto on the St. Mary’s campus. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call at the convent parlor.
