Albert L. Tavernier

MISHAWAKA – Albert L. Tavernier, 76, of 713 E. Battell St., was dead on arrival at 10:38 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Hospital where he was taken by ambulance after he became ill in his home. Born in Mishawaka on April 1, 1898, he had lived here all his life. He was employed as a foreman at the Dodge Manufacturing Co., and retired in 1963 after 47 years of service.

 

He married Geraldine Snyder in Mishawaka on May 28, 1921. She died May 28, 1966. Surviving are a son Jack D. of Mishawaka; a daughter, Mrs. Earl H. Reese of Mishawaka; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

 

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel. Funerals services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd, First United Methodist Church, with Rev. P. B. Smith, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in ST. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Mr. Tavernier was a veteran of World War I, a charter member of VFW Post 360 and a member of the Dodge Management Forum and Dodge Quarter Century Club. Memorials contributions may be made to the St. Joseph County Heart Assoc. and the First United Methodist Church.
